This week, you can learn more about Germany's leading "sexpert's" relationship with another woman, a new Dutch book about homosexuality and sports, and a European lesbian icon who can become "Queen of the Jungle".
France
French magazine Voici reports that lesbian comedian Muriel Robin has teamed up with Martial Arts expert Anne Le Nen to produce a DVD that shows self-defense techniques for women. The DVD is set to be released on November 24th. (Thanks maxime for the tip)
Germany
German “sexpert” Erika Berger has told German talk show host Johannes B. Kerner that she once was in a relationship with another woman for two years. The 69-year-old journalist, who introduced her new book called “Spätes Glück” about love and sexuality among elderly people on the show, explained to the audience that she never thought this to be extraordinary, but that to her it was just another variation of love and that it was a very important and good experience for her. Unfortunately, the conversation took a turn for the worse when Kerner insisted on pointing out the fact that the relationship started after a failed relationship with a man. You can watch the interview in the ZDF Mediathek, the relevant part starts after about 22 minutes.

Out lesbian speed skater Marieke Wijsman is featured in a new book about the acceptance of gays and lesbians in sports called "Gelijkspel" (Game Drawn). Wijsman and the book’s author Huub ter Har talked about the book in the popular late night talk show "Pauw en Witteman".
Portugal / Spain
AfterEllen reports that there’s going to be a lesbian couple on the Portuguese soap opera “Podia Acabar o Mundo (The World Could End)” and even more lesbians on Spanish TV, among them a lesbian killer couple on the show “Cazadores des Hombres (Hunters of Men)” (and I mean that literally, because they are killers) and a lesbian secretary looking for love on the show “Lex”.

Out lesbian tennis player Martina Navratilova, who regained the Czech nationality in March of this year, is going to be a candidate on the new season of the reality TV show
“I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” that starts this Sunday. If you haven’t heard of this show (which means that you either live under a rock or in a country which hasn’t bought the concept to show it’s own version of it – lucky you!), it’s a show in which celebrities live in the jungle for a few weeks. They have to meet gruesome challenges like eating bugs or being bathed in them in order two win food and other amenities for themselves and the whole group. The audience votes on who can stay and who has to leave the jungle camp, and the last remaining participant is going to be crowned either king or queen of the jungle. Well, Martina, have fun! (Thanks maxime and Louisa for the tips).

A few weeks ago, our contributing writer Pixel told you about the Australian show “Out of the Blue” and the show’s resident lesbian couple Peta and Poppy. As AfterEllen reports, the women are now engaged and in the midst of wedding preparations, so make sure to tune in to BBC in about two weeks when the women are set to say there “I Dos”.

And finally, in the “My eyes, my eyes” category, there are new pictures of model Jodie Marsh and her girlfriend available online. (We reported about Jodie’s newfound love for women in the November 1st edition of “We Are Everyhwere”) But be forewarn, if you’re following this link, you’re doing it at your own risk. Let’s just say, not all pictures of two women making out are necessarily sexy…

Well that's the second lesbian celeb in the jungle for the umpteeth series of this show (anyone else remember Rhona Cameron and her speech/rant from the first series?)
Damn now I wish I actually had TV. I want to watch that wedding too!

Submitted by Natazzz on November 15, 2008 - 20:03.LOL when I read the topic I thought it would be a book about research linking being gay and playing sports...but yeah, the real topic makes much more sense.

Submitted by maxime68 on November 19, 2008 - 05:49.re Erika Berger: I started watching the part and decided after 3 minutes, that it wasn't good for my health and voice.
In a way the participants of the discussion wanted to support Erika Berger, but they sounded uninformed (to be friendly) and ignorant and failed big time.
Jungle....uhh....the German version only featured celebrities from C-List downwards. And in today's times I find it hardly believable that someone doesn't know what she's getting herself into. You don't need to watch TV if you want to know what this is about.
....guess I need to get of this soapbox one of these days... ;-)
